HPE 1950 - WebUI Certificate

We need to change the SSL-certificate on the Web UI to a certificate from our internal CA. How can this be achieved? Is there a way to generate a CSR file to send it to our CA to replace the self-signed certificate on the 1950?

Thanks for any advice!

HP 1920-8G firmware, where to download?

Hello Everyone,

can someone please point me to the firmware download page for the 1920-8G switch.

Unfortunatly this can't be found aymore via the support page nor via the OfficeConnect portal.

I wish HPE changes back to the old support pages, most software/firmware were easier to find then.

Cheers, Ole

Tagged VLANs not getting DHCP/traffic on 1920 and 5130 switches?

$

I have 3 clients all running Watchguard Fireboxes, Watchguard APs, and HP switches. 2 of the clients have 1920s, one has a 5130. The two 1920 clients have VLAN1 default corp lan and VLAN20 for guest wifi. The 5130 client has 6 VLANs...1corp/lan, 20guest, 30 production network, 40 redundant ISP from remote site 1, 50 voip, 60 remote site 1-fiber, 70 remote site 2-fiber.

The VLANs are created on the Watchguard Fireboxes except for clientwith 5130...it only has 1, 20, and 30 configured...40, 50, 60, 70 are not created on their Firebox yet.   Corp and Guest VLANS at all three clients have DHCP enabled on them in the Fireboxes.

Both 1920 switches have all ports untagged VLAN1. Port 24 of each switch goes to Firebox and is set for 1T/10U/PVID1/Trunk. Each switch port that has an AP plugged in to it is set as 1T/10U/PVID1/Trunk. If I log in to guest wireless I do not get an IP from the DHCP Server on VLAN20.  I have webGUI access to these switches via a remote machine at these sites, but have not tried configuring SSH/Telnet in webGUI to see if I can putty in to them from those remote machines.

The 5130 site has witch port 24 to Firebox set as Trunk/PVID1/Permit1,20,30,50,60,70 and everything else default...clients on VLAN1 can't get out to internet or ping router so I had to plug router in to another temporary port(default pvid1/access) to get them online and talking to the router. Switch port 23 to AP is Trunk/PVID1/Permit20 and everything else default...guest wireless clients not getting DHCP.  Switch fiber port 25 is remote site 1 and is Trunk/PVID1/Permit-1,20,50,60. Switch fiber port 26 is remote site 2 and is Trunk/PVID1/Permit-1,20,40,70.  Both those sites have internet connectivity.  The goal for those sites is separate VLANs from everything, but connectivity to the shared domain controller/fileserver on VLAN1.  The fact these two seem to work, yet their VLANs aren't yet configured in the Firebox, is odd and perhaps a hint at what might be wrong?  I have webGUI access via a remote machine at this site, enabled SSH and telnet to use putty from that remote machine, but ssh unexpectedly closes after login and telnet connects and immediately says failed login and I can't figure out why.

I do not have physical access to the sites with 1920 switches.  I have limited access to the site with the 5130 and major changes needed to be performed after hours and scheduled in advance.

HP 1920S and snmp community

Hi,

i'm currently testing a HP 1920S switch and snmp.  Firmware PD.01.07.  I'm using Paessler SNMP tester 5.2.3.

When using the default snmp on the switch (private, public) i can query for example the uptime.  If i however add an extra community with a random name (let's say testro) i can no longer query the switch (i'm getting no response).  The community entry would then be :

community : testro

security : testro

Groupname : defaultread

IP Address : 0.0.0.0.

Is this expected behaviour?

SAP BI SQL Query to display rows as columns

Hello,

I am trying to create an OMi event report in OBR using WebIntelligence. We have 10 different custom slots. For a given event, I want to display those custom slots as columns. We have CustAtt and CustAttVal. CustAtt should apprear as column name, and CustAttVal should be the corresponding value for its related CustAtt. Is there any SAP BOBJ BI SQL funciton I can use to acheive this? I tried STRING_AGG, but I get an error message that function does not exist, or the permissions do not exist.

Currently it appears as this

DateCreated, Title_Text, Sev, CustAtt, CustAttVal
2017/12/13, TestAlert1, Major, AppName, App1
2017/12/13, TestAlert1, Major, TktNum, Ticket1
2017/12/14, TestAlert2, Minor, AppName, App2
2017/12/14, TestAlert2, Minor, TktNum, Ticket2

This is how it should be displayed

DateCreated, Title_Text, Sev, AppName, TktNum
2017/12/13, TestAlert1, Major, App1, Ticket1
2017/12/14, TestAlert2, Minor, App2, Ticket2

Thanks.

Hello,

I have a HPE 1920S 8G PoE switch. I logged in with admin account, but I can't change password and other settings.

Thanks in advance for your help.

HPE 1920S 8G PoE - VLANs port membership

Hello,

I need to ask you for help again. If I knew that I will have so many problems...

At the begining I want to connect 2 access points to this switch (2 SSIDs -> 2 VLANs).

I want first SSID conected with default VLAN1 and second SSID conected to VLAN2.

I have configured ports 7 as VLAN2. Acces points will be connected with PoE to Port1 and Port2.

How I can set 2 VLANs on one port? I can change membership, but I can put ther only one VLAN ID. I tried to figure it out without success. I can't find any good manual or tutorial.

Ps.

Maybe I didn't explain clear what I want to get.

Ports 7 and 8 will be as uplinks for two separate networks. I want to set VLAN1 between Ports 8 and 1 and VLAN2 between ports 7 and 2. On ports 1 and 2 will be two access points with two SSIDs. SSID1 connected to VLAN1 and SSID2 connected to VLAN2. I need to create a membership on port 1 and 2 for both VLANs.

Is it possible?

Difficulty passing VLAN traffic on a OfficeConnect 1920S (JL386A) switch

$

I am new to HPE kit and am not an advanced user, so please bear with me. I will try and set out the situation as clearly as possible.

I have not been able to get femtocells to work when connected via a 1920S (in layer 2 mode). Somehow it is not allowing, in and/or out, some of the femtocell traffic. Packet capture on the directly attached firewall (a SonicWALL) shows DNS and NTP traffic to and from the devices, but the key traffic elements (e.g. 4500 (UDP) aren't getting through i.e. no sign of them on the SonicWALL as dropped packets or otherwise. The workaround has been to use a standalone 8 port switch and connect that directly to the firewall (with VLAN config. removed on the port) . One difference between these 2 very unequal switches is the 8 port device has the ability to remove ports from VLAN config. altogether i.e. not untagged, simply not a member, which I didn't think was possible on a switch supporting VLANs. The switch has 802.1q VLAN turned off, but port based VLANs on, but with no members as mentioned, so I assume it's simply acting as a 'dumb' switch. So frustrating to be honest, that a simple £25 switch can handle this so easily, but not a £700 monster.

Does anyone have any wise words or thoughts, or has encountered this type of problem before?

disabling spanning tree

hi

last month we have added to our backbone network 2 x 48g 1920 switches for office. Tidied up cabinet nicely

I did configure 2 vlans on them. vlan10 guest wifi, vlan20 office wifi and second office network

We have additional 3 x 24g 2530 procurve and 1 x 48g 1820 which distributed on manufactoring side of the business. all those hp sws connecting to each other fiber gbics

recently we have weird issue of some users on vlan20 might be disconnected on network few seconds then came back.

i have noticed 2 x 1920 have stp enabled. Surely i havent enabled as stp requires a bit design. None of the backbone hp sws stp enabled. I would think default factory condition stp would be disabled

i am thinking to disable stp on 1920s as well untill i design and implement stp fully on all backbone sws

would disabling stp on those 2 x 1920s cause more harm  on the network ?

1920 Web Interface Problem

We assigned each VLAN a static IP so we could login to the Web Interface as per the 1920 User Guide. After doing that we have to reboot the switch everytime to login using the Web interface. we have 20 of these 1920 swirches and they all have the same problem.

We had Vijetha K
GSD Customer Solution Center
HPE Pointnext
of HP remote in to look at this issue and she does not not know how to fix it. she has never seen this issue.

Can someone on this forum help?

Dear all,

I am new with HP and quit a newbie.

I created a new server-certificate on my fire-wall (pfSense) to use it on my HP-1820-24G.

So far I can export CRT-, KEY- and P12-files from the fire-wall ...

What do I need to do to import the certificate on the HP successfully ?

HP is asking to import PEM-format, if I convert from CRT- into a PEM-file, the switch do not recognize them as a certificate :-(

Any help is highly appreciated :-) !!

HP Procurve 1810-8G / software version PL 2.08

Hello,

I just bought from an auction site a Procurve 1810-8G (J9802A) v2. It came with software version PL 1.5. I searched and finally found some updates for this switch. According to HP the latest software version is PL 2.08.

This is the link with the latest and older releases: HPE Link

I was able to flash the switch with software version PL 2.07 successfully. The PL 2.08 contains a file 'HP1810-GE.bin' and NOT an img file like all the others software versions. How i can flash the switch to pl 2.08?

Thank you

Hybrid port with RADIUS-based VLAN

$

On a V1910 (JE009A), I'm trying to set up a hybrid port which assigns VLAN IDs to MAC addresses based on the configured RADIUS server's (freeradius, but doesn't matter I think) response.

Example:

  1. device_1 with MAC = 0000-1111-1111 appears on the port
  2. the switch sends an auth request to the RADIUS server with username = '000011111111'
  3. the RADIUS server replies (an Access-Accept) with the proper Tunnel-* attributes which are casually used in dot1x + dynamic VLAN assignment, setting the VLAN ID for this 'user' to 10
  4. from now on the switch uses VLAN 10 for device_1
  5. device_2 with MAC = 0000-2222-0000 appears on the same port (say they're behind an unmanaged switch)
  6. the switch sends an auth request with username = '000022220000'
  7. the server replies like in step 3, only with a different VLAN ID, say 20
  8. from now on, device_2's traffic uses VLAN 20, while device_1's traffic still uses VLAN 10 (like in a standard, static hybrid port scenario)

I'm stuck at step 4 & 8: RADIUS replies with an Access-Accept which contains the configured Tunnel-* attributes, but the port/VLAN doesn't change, here's its state:

[switch-GigabitEthernet1/0/32]dis mac-au i g 1/0/32
MAC address authentication is enabled.
User name format is MAC address in lowercase, like xxxxxxxxxxxx
 Fixed username:mac
 Fixed password:not configured
         Offline detect period is 300s
         Quiet period is 60s
Server response timeout value is 100s
The max allowed user number is 1024 per slot
Current user number amounts to 2
         Current domain is test

Silent MAC User info:
MAC Addr         From Port                    Port Index

GigabitEthernet1/0/32 is link-up
  MAC address authentication is enabled
  Authenticate success: 0, failed: 0
Max number of on-line users is 256
Current online user number is 2
MAC Addr         Authenticate State           Auth Index
         0000-1111-0000   MAC_AUTHENTICATOR_CONNECT     65
         0000-2222-0000   MAC_AUTHENTICATOR_CONNECT     66

Is such a setup technically possible?

HP v1910 blocks NFS mounting

Hello.

It looks like HP v1910-24 switch prevents NFS mounting between 2 Linux hosts.

We have a separated server room where we have a Linux server with NFS share. Also we have 2 rooms with client computers. Network outlets in one room are connected to HP V1910-24G Switch JE006A, outlets in the second room are connected to HP V1910-48G Switch JE009A.

From room with V1910-48G it's possible to mount NFS share from server room, but from room with V1910-24G it's impossible even if I'll use the same Linux host as a client. I got an error "mount.nfs: Connection timed out"

I've compared all settings in these two switches but there are no differences. We don't use VLANs or ACLs

HP 1910 VLAN Internet Access

Hi All,

Here is what i am trying to do. I am trying to get my VMs access to the Internet. I have the following setups.

ESXi hosts vSwitches are setup correctly since i am able to to talk to different VMs across VLAN but Internet Access does not work.

Home network 192.168.1.x

NetGear Wifi 192.168.1.1

HP 1910 192.168.1.40

It has a total of 8 VLANs and i have assigned IP addresses for each VLAN

Example for VLAN 2 on my VMs i am using Default Gateway of 192.168.2.1

But i am not able to access the Internet from the VMs.

I did setup static routes on the NetGear

I do have a static route on the 1910 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Next Hop is 192.168.1.1(NetGear Wifi) but it looks like that is on VLAN 1

Do i need to create more static routes for all the other VLANs for them to access the internet? This is driving me nuts i must be missing something simple, I hope.

Thanks in advance

Ray
