Good Morning!
I am in need of a help on on the switch 1920-48G JG927A. The first block of ports does not work some of the physical ports; I could verify in comparison with other physical ports of the same switch that the MEDIA TYPE is configured as fiber optic, but in fact it should be as twisted pair.
I already accessed the configuration by cmdline-mode on to try to make the change to twisted pair, but I could not find a way to do this.
The configuration parameter to be addressed is MEDIA TYPE, which I can not change in the 1920-48G optical fiber model for twisted pair.

TACACS Configuration on HP 1950 switch.
Hello lovely people,
I need your help.
I have configured the TACACS on HP1950 switch and its working fine with the tacacs server, but the problem is when the TACACS Servers goes down, i am not able to login the switch with local users of the devices.
What should i do ?

HPE 1920S will not allow communication between a Cisco WLC 2504 and Cisco Aironet 1852i
Hi,
We have 1 Cisco Aironet 1702i and 1 Cisco Aironet 1852i connected to HPE OfficeConnect 1920S 24G 2SFP PPoE+ 370W switch. Both APs recevied the POE power, however only the 1702i received the network connectivity and manage to connect to the Cisco WLC.
Firstly, we thought Advanced security feature in the switch causing the problem. But we have try the forum (https://community.hpe.com/t5/Web-and-Unmanaged/HPE-1920S-will-not-allow-communication-between-a-Ruckus/td-p/7006076) suggestion to turn off the features and result still the same.
We also have check the LLDP but the AP swtill wouldn't power on and getting the IP from the DHCP.
Wondering what could be going wrong. Will anyone knowing what causing the issue? Thank you.

HPE OfficeConnect Switch 1820 8G J9979A : get CPU and memory utilization from SNMP 1

I have a switch with model and version firmware: HPE OfficeConnect Switch 1820 8G J9979A, PT.02.05, Linux 3.6.5, U-Boot 2012.10-00116.
I get statistics on interfaces by snmp. How do I get the snmp load of cpu and memory usage from snmp? Via the web this information is available.

Unable to enable 802.1x globally on HPE 1950 JG963A
Hello,
I'm trying to setup 802.1x with a radius server and am following the example in the manual.
The manual says the following:
Configure 802.1X on the switch:
a. From the navigation tree, select Security > Access Control > 802.1X.
b. Enable 802.1X globally.
c. Enable 802.1X on GigabitEthernet 1/0/1, and set the access control method to MAC-based.
d. On the advanced settings page for GigabitEthernet 1/0/1, set the port authorization state to
Auto and set the mandatory ISP domain to dm1X.
When I go to Security, Access, 802.1X and click the Enable 802.1X button, I receive:
Error
Can't enable 802.1X for port security is enabled.
I looked online for how to disable port security and found the following, but it wasn't very useful :-)

Firmware update in irf stack
HI
I have an issue with updating firmware of the irf stack. I wanted to know how to updatee the firmware of the stack with out getting whole stack down. When configuring the stack we doesent config one by one as that have there any method to upgrade the whole stack with out rebooting all the switches in the stack?

HP1910 Disable L3
Hello everyone, i need some information about how to disable L3 on HP1910.
I think that if i set admin state from ip interface to down the L3 features will be disabled, but i´ll need to acess the switch few times, so the switch will still be reacheable for remotly acess?

Arp Table inconsistent HP1910, HP1920, HP2620
I have an internal network connected by 11 HP switches ( HP1910,HP1920 and HP2620) and 2 Alcatel 6450 doing stacking at core of network.
The alcatel have Layer 3 features and it was moved to become the gateway.
The problem start when we moved it, i have a link to my firewall at port 1/23 and few times i lost connectivity between the Alcatel with my firewall, when i saw in ARP table it was pointing to wrong ports, pointing for 2 particular HP ( HP1910 48P PoE+ and HP1920 48P PoE that do cascading with 2 HP2620)
I searched for a lot of information, firewall could be wrong configured, Alcatel wrong configured, but i didn´t found no answer about it.
Now i´m suspecting about the HP switches, they do proxy-arp ? they could share his arp table?
i know it doesn´t clear but i really don´t know what more what could be.

HP 1920s - VLAN Assignment by RADIUS
Hi,
I'm currently trying to configure a 1920S switch and I'm stuck with the VLAN assignment.
Scenario: A Lenovo Thinkpad Dock connected to a HP 1920S which in turn is linked to an upstream switch with a trunked connection. The docking station passes the MAC address of the connected laptop. Depending on the connected device the port should be assigned to either VLAN 10 or 30.
Configuration: The port is untagged assigned to VLAN 1 and tagged to 10 and 30. In Port Control the control mode is set to "MAC based" and the checkbox "MAC authentication mode" is set.
Current situation: The MAC address is detected and authentication with the radius server is successful. The client is listed both on the "Client Summary" and the "History Log Summary" with the correct VLAN, however packages are only transmitted if I set the VLAN ID on the laptop to 10 (client tagging). This is however not usable since the laptop will also be connected to non VLAN/802.1x aware networks.
What I've tried: If I disable MAC authentication and switch to port authentication via 802.1x the untagged VLAN of the port is correctly configured to the assigned VLAN and everything works fine.
I'm aware that the 1920S is not capable of running different MAC adresses on one port with different VLANs (which I don't need since there will only be one device per port), however I assumed that the VLAN of the first authenticated device is configured as the untagged VLAN of the port. Basically I need port authorization based on the MAC adress.
Any help is appreciated. If needed I will supply further information on the configuration.

MAC Authentication missing in HPE V1910-48G with latest firmware, even though it's a feature
We have an HPE V1910-48G (JE009A) with the most current firmware to date, 1519P01.
The problem is that the MAC Authentication tab is missing in the GUI under Authentication. When I look in the release notes for the firmware and the user guide for the switch, they mention MAC Authentication extensively. See here:

We also have an HPE 1920-24G (JG924A). It's also a 3COM based switch with an identical looking GUI and command line interface. On it, under the Authentication tab, there is a button for MAC Authentication.
Why would the 1910 be missing MAC Authentication? We were under the impression, based off the manual and release notes, that we could configure MAC Authentication to a RADIUS server on the 1910, just like we do on the 1920.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

HPE 1920s-24 Firmware 2.06 bug
Hi everyone!
It looks like I found a bug in new firmware for the switch JL381A.
When I enable https admin mode and disable http, I`m loosing management connect to the switch. Probably the problem depends to the cookie "secure" attribute.

Switch troubleshooting
hello
i have an hp 1910 series switch that is not working properly
the power led blinks and 4 ports have stable green light even thought no cable is connected
i update the firmware , reinitialized the swtch ( to factory settings ) and even disabled the ports but they are still green
what can i do ?

2520G-series: Cannot access web UI - Already logged on
We have a number of 2520-series switches and the majority of them cannot be accessed via the web UI. On entering the username and password, a message appears saying "You are already logged on" and it returns us to the log in screen.
Clearly we are not logged in so I'm guessing there is a session still open in the background which has not been shutdown when we have logged out previously.
Is there any way of killing this session off so we can access the web UI again?

HPE 1920S doesnt update link status
Have a few 1920S in the network. Running PD.02.05. Disconected a physical link from the switch, but on the web GUI of the switch it still displays link as up.

V1910: Set management VLAN and IP from CLI
Hi,
Somebody here has messed up the web management setup for one of our V1910 (probably altered management VLAN to other than VID 1). I have access to CLI and I need to know how to set the following from CLI:
Port 01 set to Untagged VID 1
Webinterface management VLAN set to VID 1
The CLI command ipsetup, does it set the webinterface management IP?

HP Switch 1920s - ring setup.
The company has a network of several switches (hp 1920s). All must connected by optics in the ring (sfs transceivers). If i close the ring - the network storm begins.
Please, tell me how to configure the ring in the web settings of the switch (setup a ring master or something like that).
I'm new.
