VLAN on HP 1920
I am new to VLANs. We have an HP 1920 Managed Switch. We defined a VLAN - VLAN 100, tag 100. We then selected all ports and tagged them for this VLAN. Now I cannot access the switch to manage it. I also cannot ping it. The network is fine - I can ping other devices. How can I get back into the switch? Factory reset?

IP Phone not working on HP 1920 switch
Hello
We have HP 1920 (JG924A) switch at remote location. Having only 1 VLAN (Default VLAN - 1). All ports are access ports. Switch HP 1920 is connected with another uplink switch HP E-3800 that too has only 1 VLAN (Default VLAN-1) all ports are untagged in VLAN 1. That switch HP e-3800 is uplink with Cisco router.
There are PC / workstations , printers, IP Phones. All of them working fine on HP-E3800.
But IP Phones are not working on HP-1920. Able to ping the IP phone but service is not working. When shifting IP Phone to HP E-3800 it works fine.
Help needed.

Maximum number of vlan interfaces
Hi everyone,
i've learned that our switch here JE006A has only 8 maximum vlan interfaces, as oppose to 4096 vlans.
( i knew they're different, but it's the vlan interface number supported that we're needing right now )
Can anyone point me to any refference that shows more details for L3 switch products with this maximum vlan *interfaces*, not just number of supported vlans ?
If we decided to upgrade our L3 switches, we need to make sure it has more details like this., rather than ended up with "upgraded" switches that turns out to have the same vlan interface limitations.

Ling Aggregation and LACP for HP 1920 and HP 1920s

Im trying to configure link aggregation in order to join two 1Gbps port and get 2Gbps for uplink between an HP 1920 and an HP 1920s.
In the old HP 1920 swiches i was doing that with static link aggregation and LACP. Now with the new HP 1920s i cannot find the way to do that. I cannot find link aggreation and as i can see LACP is enabled by default on every port. I tryed also to use Trunk but is not working properly.

Strange, two days ago (August, 29th) I received the usual Routine Alert e-Mail about HPE OfficeConnect 1920 Switch Series saying that "A new software update is now available"...I expected to see a reference about the availability of the new R1118 (or the like) just after - what I thought was - the latest available and published R1117...but the Routine Alert said that R1116 was available (R1116 was already available, exactly...it is a previous version).
Pretty strange...isn't it?
Now, looking at support site, release R1117 is clearly older than the re-proposed R1116 (see Build dates: 14 July versus 17 August).

HPE Officeconnect 1920s VLAN and trunk setup no CLI
I found this while looking for how to setup VLANS on a HPE 1920s. If this person posted this, or someone else please explain how this is down. I spent three hours yesterday in my test lab trying to make a trunk with my two VLANS I created and I got no where at all. I did manage to disconnect my Internet everytime I tagged the port on the switch with my uplink to my router.
HPE Officeconnect 1920S VLAN and Trunk Setup
Need help setting up Layer 2 VLANs to be transported between Buildings via Firewalls.
Note these are 1920S series which only have an imbedded Browser for the configuration.
Would like an example of just 1 VLAN Access Port to the Trunk Link Port to the Firewall that I can setup in the 2 switches and test.
I am new to this product, until last week this wasn't my project, and so far I cannot get any of the VLANs work.
Please answer for the 1920S product only as has a completely different webpage design thatn the 1920.
Also, the 1920S does not allow for CLI Telnet nor does it have a serial port.
Any help or getting pointed in the right direction is very much appreciated.

Update - Found the problem was how the VLANs get tagged to a Port or Trunk....now have 5 VLANs and 2 Trunks working between 3 different locations.
When configuring the VLANs it is real easy to inadvertantly delete the previous settng after moving to the next screen due to the way the programming for the "Port Membership" works.
Solution is to frequently move to the "Port Configuration" screen to verify the VLANs haven't been deleted.
Also, Under the "Diagnostics" section there is a "Support File" option that has the complete programming in printable form for future reference and the "Maintenance" section has the "File Transfer" screen for backing up the configuraton.

Cannot change my management vlan ID
Hello. I have a problem changing my switch's management vlan ID. Whenever I want to apply the setting the page keeps loading forever. I also noticed that web management on chrome is missing a few buttons.
After I applied the changes made to my management vlan ID port I did try connecting to the newly assigned port, It did not make any difference - loading was stuck in a loop. I also tried wating for changes by staying connected to the default port for more than 10 minutes.
Whatever I tried the loading was stuck in a loop. I tried both tagged and untagged ports, too.
I am using hp 1820-24g switch j9980a with it's latest firmware.
Any ideas about my problem?

Connecting more than four HPE 1950 switches
Hi
I have one small office building with six of these switches. Looks like the maximum number that can be IRF stacked together is four – so there’s too many switches to stack.
I don’t want to buy the fiber modules.
What’s the optimal way to connect the switches so that each switch is connected via the 10Gb connections, and there’s redundancy for the other switches if one fails?
Should I connect them in a ring and enable MSTP?
Any other configuration changes I need to make, eg LLDP?

Cisco core switch to HP 1910

I have question about STP. If honestly I know my answer is MST. But Im afraid to work on it , cause system alive. (and working without very big problem)
Just I know mistake Cisco and HP has different STP. I had before just Cisco 4503 core switch, and Cisco 2960 edge switch.
Then I had HP 1910 switches and I have problem about STP.
I have two question. One of them
1- What on Cisco backbone side trunk configuration to HP 1910 (I did portfast and bpdufilter)
And whats on hp 1910 side that connected to Cisco Backbone. ? (its just simply trunk and allowed to vlans)
2- Sometimes Cisco backbone to Cisco 2960 with gigabit switch. But under 2960 , I have HP 1910.
So same question what must configuration 2960 trunk gi port to 1910, and which configuration 1910 trunk port to 2960. ( I mean two side of ethernet cable )

Switching Port from VLAN to trunk does not work anymore on HP1820 (J9980A) and many other models
Dear all,
I have found a config problem in many HPE switches. Some models allow the download of the config in xml form, which allows to fix the config manually, but unfortunately this model has some binary config.
Is there a way to reset a port to vlan 0 again when trunk mode is enabled again? Before the port has been used as vlan and now it is impossible to use it as trunk.
