Jumbo frame indicates the maximum of 9600, but I can't frame larger than 1500 in the port. Colud guid me how to?

I understand that on our 1910-24G ( JE006a ), there can be only one 1 DHCP ip server for 1 group on dhcp relay page.

HP 1920 POE+ and Aruba IAP-305 in powersave mode

Hi,

we have some HP 1920 24g POE+ (370w) - JG926A with connected some Aruba IAP-305. Frequently but not always happens that the IAP-305 starts in powersave mode and it is necessary to reboot the AP or disable and re-enable the POE on the switch port to get the IAP-305 starting in the full mode.

It doesn't happens with other switches, where the IAP-305 always starts in full mode. I tested with Aruba 2530 and 2930.

The orange light on the IAP-305 gives to the customer an impression of malfunctioning.

Somebody know how to avoid it?

Thanks!

Kind regards.

Switch advice for VoIP setup

$

As part of preparing our infrastructure to support a Panasonic VoIP system, we are upgrading several of our HP ProCurve switches. These are switches, which are almost 10 years old.

Our core L3 switch is an HP 5300XL.

The old switches will be replaced with models;

 HPE 1920-8G-PoE+(180w) Switch JG922A

HPE OfficeConnect 1920S 48G 4SFP PPoE+ 370W Switch

HPE OfficeConnect 1920S 24G 2SFP PPoE+ 185W Switch

I can see from specs of the switches that all support QoS – would anyone disagree?

We already have a couple of new 1920s, and must say that the web GUI isn't a patch on the CLI abilities of our other ProCurve switches. Whilst it isn't a huge issue, due to the ability to enable the CLI on the 1900s, from the opinions of others it just 'isn't the same'.

So, a number of others have recommended the 2530s over the 1920s. Do I need to get over the CLI issue, and go with the 1920s - has anyone run into functionality issues with these switches, when used to support a VoIP system?

Many thanks.

Hello

can anyone please point me to the procedure for updating the software for this model of switch using the web interface? Current Software Version is PT.01.10, latest version is PT.02.03 so well out of date.

The HP support site search does not recognise this model of switch. so I could not create a ticket or register the device.

Thanks in anticipation.

HP V1910 DHCP-Snooping broken?

$

I have quite a few V1910 Comware switches running the (second to) latest firmware, they all connect back to a "Core" A5500-24G-SFP switch. I have DHCP running on a Windows Server box connected to the A5500, and it's doing dhcp-relay. I have both the BAGG, and individual ports setup as a dhcp-snooping trust on the V1910 switches, and the port going to the DHCP server on the A5500 is setup as a dhcp-snooping trust... I might have 20 AP's connected to a 1910 at a high school, and hundreds of kids walking around might hit it every hour or two. It seems to fail after a few days for no reason at all, turning DHCP-snooping off at the switch level fixes the issue, but is not a permanent solution. Is there anything required besides turning dhcp-snooping on at the switch level, and designating a port as the trust? This seems to take longer to manifest as an issue in lower traffic buildings and areas.

Cannot configure Custom Certificate on HP Switch 1910

We tried to assign a custom certificate in our HPE 1910-8G-PoE+ (180W) Switch JG350A.  Unfortunately we connot get it to work. The manual is not clear to us, so we hope can find the answer here. When we upload the certificate for the switch in request certificate (offline mode) it's giving us the following error "error root certificate is not trusted" so I would assume that we can upload the public root certificate of our CA somewhere in this switch.

We have looked everywhere in that GUI but cannot find any place where we can upload the public certificate of our Certificate Authority. What are we doing wrong?

HPE OfficeConnect 1950-24G-2SFP+-2XGT - reboot / reload from CLI ?

$

I recently got a couple of HPE 1950's placed on my desk - traditionally I have worked from the CLI for switching products.

I had not worked with these switches before, and I must say, they are quite different to what I am used to.

For instance, the requirement to use xtd-cli-mode to then, be able to enter system-view was quite odd to me.

My primary issue now though is, how do I reboot / reload from the CLI?

It is clearly possible in from the Web UI, but there are no familiar commands in the CLI relating to rebooting the switch. In the user manual I have found online, there is however reference to a reboot command, which seems unavailable on my switch?

I had also checked for the latest firmware for these switches, but couldn't find anything.

For reference, here is my display version:

Any and all information would be appreciated - I am trying to document this hardware, and I am awstruck by how difficult HP has made it to manage these switches via CLI.....

replacing a HP V1810-48G switch

I have a HP V1810-48G (J9660A) that went bad. I thankfully had a backup one that I just loaded the config on and I was off and running. I was looking for a replacement but I was wondering what the current equivalent to that switch would be? I would still like to keep my backup so if I could get a switch that could share the config that would be optimal.

Officeconnect 20 - low speed

We have a performance problem wtih the OC20.. Our HP Elitebook X360 is working fast with a Linksys router EA6200 at +/- 200 mbps in AC 5Ghz mode. But is connecting, most of the time, with the OC20 at 2.4Ghz. Even when connected to the AC radio, speed is maximum 80 mbps.  I checked the connection via the OC20 app and also via the Win 10 network settings / hardware proporties, to see the details of the connection...  The channel is always changng....   But the speed keeps low !!!

Any solution ?

HPE Officeconnect 1920s VLAN and trunk setup no CLI

I found this while looking for how to setup VLANS on a HPE 1920s. If this person posted this, or someone else please explain how this is down. I spent three hours yesterday in my test lab trying to make a trunk with my two VLANS I created and I got no where at all. I did manage to disconnect my Internet everytime I tagged the port on the switch with my uplink to my router.

HPE Officeconnect 1920S VLAN and Trunk Setup

Need help setting up Layer 2 VLANs to be transported between Buildings via Firewalls.

Note these are 1920S series which only have an imbedded Browser for the configuration.

Would like an example of just 1 VLAN Access Port to the Trunk Link Port to the Firewall that I can setup in the 2 switches and test.

I am new to this product, until last week this wasn't my project, and so far I cannot get any of the VLANs work.

Please answer for the 1920S product only as has a completely different webpage design thatn the 1920.

Also, the 1920S does not allow for CLI Telnet nor does it have a serial port.

Any help or getting pointed in the right direction is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

 J.J.

Update - Found the problem was how the VLANs get tagged to a Port or Trunk....now have 5 VLANs and 2 Trunks working between 3 different locations.

When configuring the VLANs it is real easy to inadvertantly delete the previous settng after moving to the next screen due to the way the programming for the "Port Membership" works.

Solution is to frequently move to the "Port Configuration" screen to verify the VLANs haven't been deleted.

Also, Under the "Diagnostics" section there is a "Support File" option that has the complete programming in printable form for future reference and the "Maintenance"  section has the "File Transfer" screen for backing up the configuraton.

How to get remote management to HPE 1920S switch?

$

Hi guys,

I have an issue with a HPE 1920S switch and the remote management. The scenario is the following: in customer network management VLAN is 200, and right now I can access the switch locally connecting my laptop to the switch port 22, which is an untagged member of VLAN 200. But I want to have remote access to the switch through ports 23 and 24, which I configured as tagged members of VLAN 200 and go to the uplink switch. In the "Get Connected" page I set Management VLAN ID to 200 and Management Port to None, because I want access the switch through port 22, 23 or 24. According to the configuration guide page 21: "If no management port is specified, then all ports that are members of the management VLAN provide access to the switch management interface."

However, after these configurations I have no remote access to the switch, but I can ping gateway 172.30.0.1 from the switch, which is in customer network beyond the uplink switch, so I can be sure VLAN 200 is passing through ports 23 and 24. What could be wrong? Am I missing anything? Attached the topology. Many thanks in advance.

Julián

We need to change the SSL-certificate on the Web UI to a certificate from our internal CA. How can this be achieved? Is there a way to generate a CSR file to send it to our CA to replace the self-signed certificate on the 1950?

Thanks for any advice!

Hello,

I am going a bit crazy over a network, i have 2 hp 1920g poe switches, between them about 9 comnet industrial switches on two lines forming a loop, so i need rstp to work to open loop and keep redundancy active, if i assign on an hp the role ov root bridge the comnet seems to see it as root, but on hp ports i see a strange behaviour as here

----[Port25(GigabitEthernet1/0/25)][FORWARDING]----

 BPDU Received(Err) :0(274244)
          TCN: 0, Config: 0, RST: 0, MST: 0

it seems the bpdu received from comnet is wrong for hp

do you have any suggestions to fix this?

thank you very much
