Switch HP 1920 jg927a not working

Greetings!

I'm new here, and I'm glad for this community for exchange experiences and learn something.

I have a problem with onde switch hp 1920 jg927a.

This equipment is not passing internet signal to the equipment that is connected to it. If I connect a PC or a notebook directly to any port on the switch, there is no signal. Neither does the door LED illuminate. All this happened suddenly because they were running smoothly.

See the images attached, the black cable come from the modem, and the yellow cable come my notebook, but the led's not up and no WAN.

The topology is as follows:

modem >> switch >> lan area, with Ubiquiti access point and three PC's.

I already changed cables, doors and nothing worked.

Can you help me what could be wrong?

Config link aggregation between ESXi 6.0 U3 (free edition) and Switch HP 1920-48G JG927A

I'm trying a couple of days to set up a link aggregation between an HP Switch HP 1920-48G JG927A and ESXi 6.0 U3 (free version). J; I've tried several configurations and algorithms of LACP (in ESXi), but the maximum I could do was to create a failover with 4 links ... one of them is active and the others in failover mode. But what I want is to join 4 1GB link to create a 4GB link.

I also read that this would only be possible in the paid version of ESXi, since it would have to use a distributed switch and not the virtual switch that the free version provides. That's right?

I need to configure a secondary IP address on a VLAN on this Layer 3 switch.

I'm trying to do it from Network -> IP, then I edit the VLAN. When I try I get this error:

Maximum number of IP addresses already reached.

I already upgraded to latest version (7.1.070 Release 3208P03).

HP 5000 UPS

Hi

We have 2 HP R5000 UPS units racked. These are old and look to have never been managed. I am relatively new to the job and have tried connecting to these with a serial to USB converter. I have folowed the guide but I am still having trouble connecting to the units. The cable itself is fine and shows under COM1. It looks like it attempts to estabilish a connection as I can see the device show as "other device" through Windows. It simply states it cannot communicate with the device.

I am using WIndows 10. Flow control is turned off as per the documentation and I also have tried turning it off on putty with the same result of being unable to connect

Can anyone suggest anything that might let me connect through putty?

Gareth

Configure HP-1950 48port JG963A with trunking

Hi,

I need some help to setup a high availability wireless connection b/w two sites with two radio wireless devices. For the moment i have issues with the existing wireless connection as it drops off packets anytime during the day and on some occasions i have to restart it to bring it back online.

I have a HP-1950 JG963A switch with default VLAN ID 1 and untagged ports. On each site i have two radio wireless devices to connect the two sites, for the moment one pair of wireless device is disconnected to avoid creating network loop.

I like to know how to setup the HP switch ports of both wireless devices on both sites to use two pairs of wireless devices as high availability connection amongst sites. I am confused if i have weather i have to setup trunk ports on both switches with or without port aggregation.

Syed

Loopback Detection

Hi!
The HPE 1910 JG538A and 1908 + POE Loopback Detection switches do not work. If I disable RSTP Global and enable Loopback Detection on the system + enable ethernet all. If you turn for example patchcord eth1 / 02 in 1/0/6, the switch hangs loopback Detection does not work.
I'm using software 5.20.R1118.
Should Loopback Detection work? Do you work at the test?

V1910 ACLs

Hello,

I have been working on trying to configure ACLs on a V1910 for over 2 weeks now and I'm beyond frustrated. I have updated to the latest firmware. I have read countless articles and done many searches. I have tried to configure them via the CLI as well as through the GUI with no success. I have several VLANs on the switch and they can all route between eachother. I am trying to restrict traffic on VLAN 28 10.10.28.0/24 from getting to any other VLAN and also restrict all traffic on VLAN 22 10.10.22.0/24 from getting to any other VLAN but allowing port 25 from VLAN 22 to VLAN 24 10.10.24.0/24 and also allowing VLAN 22 to get to the internet (VLAN 10 has the gateway/edge firewall on it). I also want to allow VLAN 24 to be able to get to every other VLAN, including 22 and 28.

Any help would be amazing.

Thanks,

Jason

HP 1950 stacking via Ethernet, can I use SFP+ for trunks?

$

Hi all

Looking at 7 x 1950 48G PoE+ 10Gbe/10G SFP+ switches for a network upgrade.

Planning to stack 4 units via 10G copper ports and have the other 3 stanadlone on other floors in wiring closets.

If stacking 4 switches via 10G copper, this leaves me with 8 SFP+ ports, can I use these ports as trunk ports to ESXI servers and the other 3 standalone switches?  No dual personality/combo issues?

I did check the manual and Google and found nothing leading me to believe they are dual personality/combo ports but I thought I'd get confirmation first before pulling the trigger on these devices.

Many thanks.

HP 1920 Switch VLAN acl/qos

$

Like many others HP 1920-24G Switch (JG924A) owners I have problems trying to isolate traffic between VLANs.
Firmware is JG924A-CMW520-R1119 and release notes stated:

Starting JG924A-CMW520-R1105
Modified features include: An ACL can be applied to multiple ports or VLANs

In cli command "interface Vlan-interface90" dont allow "packet-filter" command but only "qos".
Anyway applying command "qos apply policy VLAN90p inbound" returns:
Error: Setting qos policy failed.
Reason: Not supported by hardware.

I have two VLAN:
VLAN1 10.0.2.0/24 production where is the firewall for Internet 10.0.2.254
VLAN90 172.16.90.0/24 wifi guest DHCP relay to DHCP server 10.0.2.12 with scope 172.16.90.0/24 and releasing option gateway/router 10.0.2.254 DNS server 10.0.2.254
Obviously I want client wifi guest only access to Internet through 10.0.2.254, deny access to any other networks.
All Vlans are already created, each vlan with an IP so I can route between VLAN's each other and to Internet.
Here's the part of my config:
#
 version 5.20.99, Release 1119
#
 sysname HP-1920G-Switch2
#
 dhcp relay server-group 1 ip 10.0.2.12
#
interface Vlan-interface1
 ip address 10.0.2.52 255.255.255.0
#
interface Vlan-interface90
 ip address 172.16.90.1 255.255.255.0
 dhcp select relay
 dhcp relay server-select 1
#
 ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.2.254
#
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/22
 port link-type trunk
port trunk permit vlan 1 90
 port auto-power-down
 stp edged-port enable

In port 22 I connected one access point TP-Link EAP225 (VLAN aware) with two SSID:
SSID        VLAN
VLAN80        0 (means default VLAN 1)
VLAN90        90
thus link-type trunk needed to carry diffferent VLAN ID. VLAN80 is only SSID name but is on VLAN id 1.

All works like a charm and when a wifi client connect to network SSID VLAN90 got IP from DHCP ip 172.16.90.x this means to me VLAN config and related DHCP relay work fine. The client reach both VLAN1 devices and Internet. Now I want to isolate the VLAN 90 and I made these configuration on switch:

#
acl number 3500
 description guest wifi VLAN90
rule 3 permit udp destination-port range bootps bootpc
#
traffic classifier VLAN90 operator and
 if-match acl 3500
#
traffic behavior VLAN90b
 filter permit
#
qos policy VLAN90p
 classifier VLAN90 behavior VLAN90b

the acl configuration now is not correct but it is not important because any kind of deny/permit in ACL I set anyway I got:

[HP-1920G-Switch2-Vlan-interface90]qos apply policy VLAN90p inbound
Error: Setting qos policy failed.
Reason: Not supported by hardware.

The correct ACL I suppose will be :
acl number 3500
 description guest wifi VLAN90
rule 3 permit udp destination-port range bootps bootpc
 rule 5 permit ip source 172.16.90.0 0.0.0.255 destination 10.0.2.254 0.0.0.0
 rule 50 deny ip

Why the error "Not supported by hardware"

Thanks

HPE 1920S (JL380A) firmware update fails

Hello community,

I'm trying to update my HPE 1920S (JL380A) switch from firmware version PD.01.07 to firmware version PD.01.08, but that fails. I'm using HTTP method under "Maintenance - Backup and Update Manager". The error message is:

"Transfer Failed. An unexpected error occured. Please try again". See also attached screenshot.

I reeboted the switch, tried other browsers and downloaded the firmware file PD.01.08.stk several times but everything failed.

Anyone here having the same issue?

Many thanks in advance for your support!

Hello,

I just purchased a HPE 1950 48-port Layer3 switch and am wondering if it support Network Address Translation (NAT)?

If not, can anyone recomment a low cost solid HP router?

HPE 1950 Switch JH295A does not increment SNMPv3 engine-boots when it is rebooted

$

Hi,

Usually SNMPv3 engine-boots should increment if device is rebooted. For HPE 1950 switches

with latest firmware engine-boots are not incremented and are always set to 1. Therefore

SNMPv3 does not work (connect) after reboot unless also management software is rebooted.

Is there a way to configure this (am I missing anything?) or maybe

this is a bug in switch firmware?

Same for JH295A (HPE 1950 10G switch) and JG961A (HPE 1950 1G switch).

Thank you and best regards,

Michael

HPE 1920S will not allow communication between a Ruckus ZoneDirector and the Ruckus Access Points

$

I administer a network at a school where we have a Ruckus ZoneDirector 1112 controlling 13 Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Points of varying types. A while ago the Netgear ProSafe GS724TP PoE switch failed so I replaced it with a HPE OfficeConnect 1920S 48G 4SFP PPoE+ 370W switch (JL386A). At this point the ZoneDirector which was connected directly to the new switch lost communication with all of the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Points.

I was able to reconnect some of the access points after much testing by moving the ZoneDirector to a second cabinet connected directly to a Cisco SG200-10FP PoE switch. Any access points connected to the Cisco switch were able to communicate again with the ZoneDirector. All other access points are either connected directly to the new HPE 1920S switch or to an additional Netgear PoE switch (on a different floor) that is itself connected to the HPE 1920S switch.

Basically, the HPE 1920S switch seems to block all communication between the ZoneDirector and the ZoneFlex access points but I cannot figure out why this would be or how to rectify it other than replacing the switch with a different model.

Does anyone here know of any settings that can be applied to the 1920S that will allow this communication to take place?
