Hi,

I have an hpe 1920s poe switch.

My ISP has given me a public IP. ... say- 202.56.230.52  sub : 255.255.255.252 , g/w -202.56.230.51

I want to create two separate vlan ..... say vlan 5 & vlan 6

vlan 5 will assign for lan connection

vlan 6 will be assign for wi-fi connection.

So I want to create two separate private ip pool. 192.168.1.0 network

So tell me how is it possilble . would I have to a trunk port or jus IP route .

Intermittent Latency Issues

Hi Guys,

I am experiencing high latency intermittently in our internal LAN: Please help to resolve:::::

I have configured two 5940 switches in stack. 4*40Gbps ports are used for irf. Stacking is working fine. Three  "HPE OEM ProLiant BL460c Gen9"blade server are integrated with these switch. Six BAGG interfaces are created to integrate the server. Each BAGG interface contains two 40Gbps port(One from switch1 & another from Switch2). All gateways are defined in this switch. When I pinging Server IP from switch getting high latency intermittently for some server IP. If I shut switch-1' port(used in BAGG) getting latency for all server IP. But when shutting switch-2' port(used in BAGG) no latency for all IP.

Means when packet is coming via second switch, getting latency.

I checked by interchanging the cable but still latency is there. Same issue is observed for all six BAGG interface.

IP 10.60.205.1/24 is configured in this switch on interface vlan600. ping response for 10.60.205.16 ::

Hi,

I have got a network of 9(1950) switches connected in a ring topology. I want the core switch (48 Port 1950 Switch) to do intervlan routing.  I have made vlan interfaces on core swtiches for all vlan and set a static route to the firewall with a priority of 1, but it is not working can some please confirm can 1950 provide intervlan routing ?

I have also set all the edge switches with a static route pointng to the core management vlan interface.

DHCP Snooping basics not work with HPE switches (JG920A,

I use dhcp-server and the output is configured to permanent IP based on  mac-addresses.
dhcp snooping is configured on HPE. one port is trusted and all others are untrusted. This option 82 is turned off completely.
I write down the traffic coming from HPE back to dhcp server with capture tool (Mikrotik) to a file only from this port and with the condition 'port 68'
and see the following picture:
dhcp request as if you are duplicated. I see two packets in a row.
one with the original mac, the second with the HPE mac.

The switch-uplink in this case gives information messages about the need to take action.
Firmware fully updated to Version Release 1120 (2018). DHCP option 82 is not used. DHCP relay is not used.
Behavior on a larger scale is noticeable on the switch HPE 1920 48 ports, 24 ports , etc.

what's happening?
how to configure dhcp snooping simply?

must HPE duplicate DHCP replies ?

I have some text config but it very simple :

My question is can 1920s switch do igmp querier? Thanks.

VLNa Routing

Morning all - I work for a company that has a few sites up and down the country. We share network resources with our sister companies from within the same group.

At one of our sites one of our sister company has installed their own router linked into their MPLS cloud. I now need to separate their traffic from ours and point it to their routers.

The site uses the HPE 1920G switches which are web based - I have in mind just to VLAN off their traffic.

There is already a global static route that points to our router, will this prevent their VLAN traffic accessing their routers? Do I need to add anymore static entires?

Many thanks.

HP 1920-24G Vlan configuration

Hi,

I am trying to configure VLAN Concept at HP 1920-24G switch.

I am setting up Windows Based Radius Server(NPS) in my platform, i have 3 switches & a AP between my firewall(testing phase) interlinked to each other.

I configured VLAN option at HP Switch using GUI mode, from firewall to HP Switch-1 i connected a uplink cable at port no 1 which is changed to Trunk Mode, from HP Switch-1 interlinked a cable from Port 2 to HP Switch-2 at Port No 1(both the Port 2 & Port 1) are changed to Trunk Mode, again from HP Switch-2 at Port No 2 connected one more uplink cable to HP Switch-3 at Port No 1(both Port 2 & Port 1) are changed to Trunk Mode.

Finally at HP Switch-3 connected one patch cable at port 23 for my Access point which too changed to Trunk Mode(that didn't worked so changed once to Tagged mode, neither works).

Can anyone please suggest me the right configuration of vlan configuration, as when client tries to connect the WiFi SSID it gets connected but IP not getting assigned based on VLAN ID.

Any help please!!!!

Can not connect to an HP 1950 (JG960A) from a different subnet

I have an HP 1950 switch with no added VLANs or other configuration other than setting the IP and adding a password.  The switch is at 10.0.1.106/ subnet 255.255.254.0.  From any system on that same subnet, I can ping the switch and also log into the management GUI.  We monitor our network with PRTG, it runs on a server on the server network 10.0.10.x, a firewall is segmenting the servers from the client network.  The firewall is allowing ping as well as SNMP to the switch & I can see the traffic passing through the firewall.  However, the connections fail.  I have multiple 1820 switches being monitored some on the 10.0.0.0/23 network and at 18 other locations via an MPLS circuit.  We have one other 1950 switch on the server network 10.0.10.x, it monitors correctly.  So there is something I'm missing on the problem switch.

HP V1910-16G setting up other VLAN interface cannot PING, only VLAN1 works

Hi,

I got a Hp V1910-16G switch and have updated it firmware to version 5.20_R1519P03.

Am trying to setup VLAN on it as listed below, however after setting the interface IP addresses, the gateway IP of VLAN10, 20  and 1 cannot be PING.  Only on VLAN1 it can see the three gateway IPs.

For example I connect a laptop with IP 192.168.200.11 (gw 192.168.200.253).  It does not work too when I set IP of laptop to 192.168.150.12 (gateway 192.168.150.253)  I was following a vmfocus how tos titled "how to configure layer3 static routes & vlans on hp v1910 24G"  I can't seem to find out what's wrong maybe you can help.

I was assuming after setting the interface IP, routing between VLANs will work naturally.  But in actual the gateways IP are not ping able for VLAN20 & 10

VLAN1 - 192.168.100.253 for pc users

VLAN10 - 192.168.200.253 for IPCameras/CCTV

VLAN20 - 192.168.150.253 test VLAN

Radius Permissions Issue - HPE 1920-24G-PoE Switch (JG926A)

I've set up an HPE 1920-24G-PoE switch (JG926A) to authenticate against a Windows NPS server.  Authentication is working fine, but authenticated users do not have manager permissions.  I've set up a vendor-specific attribute as follows:

Vendor Code: 25506
Vedendor-assigned attribute number: 29
Attribute format: Decimal
Attribute value: 3

Essentially the same NPS policy (aside from this vendor-specific attribute) works perfectly on my Procurve 26XX switches with aaa authentication login privilege-mode set.

Any ideas what's going on?

HP 1920S Configure GVRP/MVRP

$

I am trying to find out if the HP 1920S switches are gvrp or mvrp capable.

The switch can do Radius dynamic VLAN assignment and creates the dynamic VLAN even if missing, but it does not have an uplink. This requires disconnected the device and statically creating the VLAN, which would be alleviated if gvrp/mvrp was available.

If a VLAN is created dynamically by Radius you cannot define an uplink (Tagged/Trunked) port for the VLAN as it says it was dynamically created and you cannot define settings for it.

This also means I have to statically create it at the uplink switch as the switch has gvrp on and doesn't know that the switch below is participating in the VLAN because gvrp/mvrp isn't on to let it know.

Essentially, every time I need to configure a VLAN statically on a 1920S, I have to do it statically at the above switch, as well. Adding an unneccessary amount of time for each VLAN.

Bonjour,

Merci.

Google Translated

Hello, I am looking to port mirroring (via web interface) on a HP series 1950 (model JG962A).

I configure my source and destination port, I register successfully. The problem is that after the recording, the source port remains the GE1 / 0/1 and the direction in "incoming".

The status of the mirroring port is "incomplete".

Result, impossible to make a configuration as I hear.

Would anyone have an idea to solve my problem?

Thank you.

HP 1920(JG928A) Firmware Bootrom Issue

$

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware on my HP 1920 switch.  I was on release 1114 and noticed that the latest firmware required bootrom 122 or newer.  So I checked all the old versions and version 116 was the latest firmware that requires 117 or newer.  The switch BootRom was 119, and from previous experience, the Boorom is updated with the firmware automatically.  So I upgraded to firmware 1116 but it is still showing 119 for the bootrom.

How can I upgrade to the bootrom 122 so I can upgrade the firmware on the switch to 1121?
